Failed IUI? The Most Important Thing To Know Before Trying IVF

I have had one miscarriage, which I lost at week 10 and I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Before I did IUI my doctor said that I have a really high chance of getting pregnant with IUI. I have done three cycles of IUI and have failed them and now, my doctor is recommending IVF, but I want to try another round or two of IUI. What are your thoughts about it? So, your chances of conceiving with IUI after three failed IUI cycles decrease significantly. It’s not impossible however, because you’ve gotten pregnant before naturally and that means that your body can get pregnant and carry full-term, it just needs some help.

If I were you I would consider getting professional help to improve your overall vitality, your overall energy reducing your sleep and improving your fertility before you proceed. This is going to increase your chances of fulfilling your dream and also decrease your likelihood of having another miscarriage. If professional health is not the direction that you are comfortable with right now, I would still take 12 to 24 weeks to take care of your body of your fertility and try again.

So, take a break between now and the next IVF or IUI cycle and if you have not gotten pregnant in those 12 to 24 weeks, go ahead and proceed. Most importantly, you want to take a break between each cycle of IUI and IVF as well as those cycles can be very stressful to your body. That’s going to be better for mommy and the baby as well.
